Employment Practice Centering Empathy
At what some may consider a comically young age, I knew I wanted to be an attorney. In the innocent naivety of childhood, I saw becoming an attorney as a way that I could turn my passion for engaging in dinner table arguments over the merits of pineapple as a pizza topping into a career. As I grew older, my drive to become an attorney remained, but as my concerns in life evolved beyond pizza toppings, so did my reasons for becoming an attorney.
While studying sociology at the University of La Verne, I learned there is an “access to justice gap,” and I gained a deeper understanding for the ways the American legal system has failed large segments of the population. This understanding only strengthened my conviction to become an attorney. I was drawn to advocate for those dismissed by institutions meant to protect them.
After graduating from University of San Diego School of Law and passing the bar in 2022, I joined a Los Angeles based law firm to represent employees in their suits against their employers. I litigated employment cases of all types against some of the world’s largest employers. I enjoyed the feeling of helping people, and I quickly realized that practicing employment law was where I was meant to be.
Suffering unlawful treatment in the workplace is traumatic and can leave lasting scars. Fortunately, California law includes many avenues in which employees can fight back. At Fairchild Employment Law, I zealously advocate on behalf of workers to vindicate their rights, while also supporting clients through what can be an overwhelming and deeply personal process.
Away from work, you can usually find me on the beach taking poorly framed photos of the sunset. I also enjoy hunting for vinyl records to add to my fledgling collection of music from all eras.
